The superintendent will ensure that materials, equipment, and inspections align with the project schedule, review construction and contract documents for completeness, and coordinate plans with design engineers to resolve discrepancies. They will develop and manage detailed project schedules, including short‑term look‑ahead plans, and create site logistics plans while overseeing the use of Mortenson tools and equipment. Collaboration with partner superintendents, conducting on‑site orientations and meetings, and supervising craft foremen and crews are also key duties.
Mortenson is seeking a Superintendent I who will coordinate, plan, and supervise assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities within a specific discipline. The role emphasizes developing and enhancing customer relationships through excellent service. Visa sponsorship is not available and candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Site development experience is required, and the position involves 100 % travel with a regular home rotation every three weeks for four days.
Candidates must hold an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction, civil, architectural engineering, or construction management, or possess ten years of trade experience, and have at least five years of construction management experience. A current driver’s license, ability to travel up to 100 %, strong organizational and communication skills, and intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency are required. Knowledge of construction law, equal employment opportunity practices, and Mortenson policies is also expected.
