  • Tool owner managing the development, validation and adoption of one or more analytic tools.
  • Working primarily on R&D and Technology improvements, but also in support of sales, production and fleet activities.
  • You will be part of the R&D team designing the combustion systems for the Siemens Energy SGT product range. Our objective to minimize the impact of gas turbine operation on the environment requires innovative thinking in product development as we drive down emissions and expand our fuel flexibility, particularly focusing on low carbon fuels.
  • Conduct data analysis in support of high-pressure combustor rig test and engine test development programmes.
  • Using in-house and commercial 1D and 3D numerical tools for conceptual work, detail design and optimization of combustion systems

  • Programming experience using Python, VBA and MATLAB is highly desirable
  • Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability and a proactive work ethic.
  • Possesses basic CAD modelling skills.
  • Strong skills in data analysis
  • Essential experience with STAR-CCM+ for CFD analysis. Acoustic modelling experience using COMSOL is desirable.
  • At least 5 years of experience in combustion system development for power generation or aerospace applications, or comparable relevant experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering from a recognized university; a Master’s or Doctorate degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of chemical kinetics.
  • Strong understanding of combustion aerodynamics, heat transfer and thermoacoustics
  • Familiarity with stationary gas turbine technology is an advantage
