The Senior Estimator leads the preparation of accurate, competitive bids for complex underground utility construction projects, including water, sewer, and storm drain systems. This role partners closely with preconstruction, project management, and field leadership to evaluate scope, pricing, risk, and constructability to support successful project execution.
The estimator drives the end‑to‑end estimating process, from bid invitation through final submission, ensuring detailed quantity take‑offs, cost estimates, and budgets are prepared on schedule. Collaboration with project managers, superintendents, and vendors secures accurate production rates and pricing, while risk assessment and value‑engineering enhance project competitiveness.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, with at least ten years of experience estimating complex underground utility projects. Proven expertise in bid‑day processes, GMP development, budgeting, and cost forecasting is required, along with strong knowledge of municipal specifications and advanced proficiency in estimating software such as Bid2Win, HCSS HeavyBid, InEight, BlueBeam, and OST. Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment are essential.
