The HSEW Manager will lead and oversee health, safety, security, and environmental programs for a major construction project. Key responsibilities include developing site‑specific safety manuals, supervising safety officers and coordinators, maintaining records, conducting training, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with safety laws and PPE standards. The role also involves managing project security through third‑party providers and contributing to the Project Execution Plan.
You will manage and supervise the health and safety program for the construction management team and the trade contractors' health and safety officers. With support from the SLI Corporate HSEW Manager, you will develop a site‑specific health and safety manual, maintain safety records and statistics, provide training and orientation, investigate incidents, and ensure contractors adhere to procedures and PPE requirements. Additionally, you will oversee HSSE coordinators and administrators, and be responsible for the oversight of third‑party security services.
Minimum qualifications include 10+ years of MSHA experience in construction or heavy industry, strong leadership in developing and implementing corporate OH&S policies, and knowledge of state safety laws, codes, and safe working practices. You must be able to write, develop, and present safety programs and reports to senior stakeholders, coordinate OH&S activities of subcontractors, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency with Windows applications, safety management systems, OHSAS 18001, and COR standards is required, as well as a degree or diploma in health and safety (advanced qualifications preferred).
