  • Provides technical and project management leadership to customer projects to produce sustainable energy savings by performing or overseeing energy audits of industrial and building energy systems including: review of facility energy-usage patterns; detailed analyses of complex efficiency measures including energy use modeling; the applicability and recommendations of measures for achieving greater energy efficiency of measures to customer facilities and operations; final inspection of completed projects; and end-use monitoring of electrical loads with data analysis. Is a subject matter expert in electrical or mechanical aspects of industrial energy efficiency and mentors others in their field of expertise. Is a lead for program planning and leads efficiency programs. Leads special projects at the direction of their supervisor or manager.
  • Markets efficiency programs to eligible customers and various organizations.
  • Provides technical expertise to others with in the Company, assists in the development of the efficiency supply curves analysis.
  • Supports emergency response work as requested.
  • Maintains positive contractor relationship to ensure positive project development and follow-through.
  • Oversees the work of and consults with other energy engineers on technical, regulatory policy and financial analyses.
  • Monitors the development and market acceptability of new energy technologies.
  • Implements projects and programs while ensuring compliance of all tariffs and all financial procedures, develops new and revised department policy proposals to increase effectiveness of programs and services.
  • Identifies, evaluates, develops, and implements market-centric programs and related tariffs to produce sustainable energy savings more effectively by identifying barriers and developing solutions.

  • Customer service experience
  • Experience in aspects of program development, including understanding both internal and external processes necessary to market, sell, deliver, verify and track energy efficiency project activity
  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external customers.
  • Subject matter expert in electrical or mechanical aspects of energy efficiency.
  • Extensive industrial energy management experience
  • Demonstrated project and/or program management skills managing energy efficiency projects.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineering License and CEM or other energy credentials
  • Bachelor of Science degree or PE license in electrical, mechanical, civil or other appropriate engineering field.
  • Utility industry experience
  • Extensive experience in energy efficiency project planning, design, specification review, technical field work, and project cost estimating and scheduling (typically achieved after 10 or more years practice as a degreed engineer). Years of acquired experience is provided as a guide and alone does not constitute readiness for job level as individual’s skill acquisition rates can vary significantly.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
