GAS TURBINE SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Description

The System Engineer will act as the integrator for fluid‑system design of auxiliary systems in gas‑turbine and centrifugal‑compressor trains, handling system definition, process integration, and ensuring delivery quality, timeliness, and customer satisfaction throughout testing, installation and service support.

The role requires close collaboration with project engineers, procurement, field service and external partners to execute design activities, support new‑energy solutions such as hydrogen and CO₂ storage, and lead resolution of Mechanical Level‑3 cases and Non‑Conformity Management initiatives aimed at reducing recurring issues.

• Develop and finalize auxiliary system design documents (P&IDs, load and utility lists).
• Conduct HAZOP meetings, SIL reviews and alarm rationalization for safety and asset integrity.
• Create predictive system designs using modeling and simulation tools (Matlab/Simulink, FloMaster, Hysys).
• Perform sizing calculations for control valves, safety valves, filters, orifices and related components.
• Organize system design reviews with senior engineers to mitigate actions and ensure quality.
• Collaborate with project engineers and cross‑functional departments to facilitate smooth execution.
• Build expertise in turbomachinery operation and auxiliary system design.
• Contribute technical expertise to new‑energy technologies such as hydrogen, CO₂, CCUS and energy storage.
• Maintain relationships with engineering, procurement and field service functions across IET.
• Attend technical meetings with customers and suppliers, supporting testing and supply‑chain activities.
• Establish and maintain internal and external interfaces to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Ensure flawless execution of design activities, including technical alignment with suppliers.
• Participate in idea generation, product improvement and Kaizen initiatives.
• Act as primary contact for Gas Turbine Mechanical Level‑3 cases across all product lines.
• Facilitate collaboration to develop and implement robust corrective actions at project sites.
• Present NCM trends and resolution status during Quality Monthly Reviews.
• Identify actionable insights and oversee solutions to prevent recurrence of design issues.
• Support the NCM Reduction Framework aiming for a 25% year‑over‑year decrease in non‑conformities.
• Work with the configuration team to implement and adopt preventive actions.
• Lead technical training and lessons‑learned sharing to enhance team expertise.

Requirements

Successful candidates hold a Bachelor, Master or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline, possess strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, turbomachinery and process design, and demonstrate excellent problem‑solving, communication and stakeholder‑management skills. • Hold a Bachelor/Master/PhD in Mechanical, Chemical, Energy, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Nuclear or equivalent engineering.
• Demonstrate knowledge of fluid dynamics, mechanical and thermal domains, and turbomachinery.
• Exhibit strong problem‑solving, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluent in verbal and written English and able to interface effectively with all stakeholders.
