SGS provides inspection, verification, testing, and certification services across various industries.
The laboratory technician role supports SGS’s commitment to delivering high‑quality analytical results, ensuring data accuracy and timely reporting in line with client and regulatory expectations.
The work requires analyzing, troubleshooting, and adapting existing procedures to obtain the desired outcomes, developing action plans for issues that have broad implications, and understanding critical control points and potential cross‑contaminations while maintaining expected turnaround times despite seasonal sample volume fluctuations.
Business success depends on providing reliable results quickly and at reasonable cost; the technician follows well‑defined methods, applies test procedures to unconventional samples, consults manuals and collaborates with supervisors when novel situations arise, documents approved deviations, and initiates re‑checks after quality‑control failures.
Training runs Monday‑Friday, 8 AM‑4:30 PM. After training, the schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 11 AM‑7:30 PM, plus Saturday, 9 AM‑5:30 PM. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field, at least three years of laboratory experience, proficiency in English, basic mathematical and reasoning skills, and basic use of Microsoft Office 365 and a LIMS system, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
