Project Engineer - Water/Wastewater

Description

• Prepare construction documents for water booster pump stations, storage facilities, treatment plants, wells, sewer pump stations, reclaimed water systems, and mains.
• Develop construction plans, basis of design reports, and technical specifications.
• Produce water and wastewater planning and engineering documents for land and site development.
• Create hydraulic models and studies of water and wastewater systems.
• Coordinate with team members, utilities, municipalities, consultants, and clients.
• Provide construction phase support including submittal reviews, RFI responses, engineer‑of‑record services, and startup commissioning.
• Manage quality control, schedules, and plan production.
• Delegate work and guide technical staff to ensure sound, cost‑efficient designs.
• Assist with project and team management and mentor design staff.
• Process plans and resolve issues with plan reviewers.

Requirements

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical or a related engineering field, has 4‑7+ years of relevant experience, and can obtain AZ PE licensure within 12 months. Strong fundamentals in hydraulics, proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD, and excellent organizational and communication skills are required.

• B.S. in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4‑7+ years of relevant experience.
• AZ Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Strong hydraulic engineering fundamentals and technical design skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and AutoCAD.
• Excellent organizational, judgment, and communication abilities.
• Attention to detail, quality, and client service; self‑motivated with ability to meet multiple critical deadlines.
• Experience designing water distribution and wastewater collection facilities (pump stations, reservoirs, wells, lift stations, water and sewer mains).
• Working knowledge of Bluebeam Revu, Bentley WaterCAD/SewerCAD/Hammer, or InfoWater.
• Understanding of state, local, and private utility engineering requirements.
