  • Working closely with the key Operational stakeholders to identify and rectify issues whilst improving the effectiveness of the operations department.
  • Track and monitor performance against KPIs with a clear plan for opportunities to improve.
  • Completing set productivity targets for planners
  • Answering and resolving customer enquiries and demonstrating ownership of the problem
  • Maintaining high standards within Health, Safety & Environment, Housekeeping, Performance, Waste, Communication and Continuous Improvement.
  • Working closely with stores/supervisors in order to plan and complete jobs.
  • Engage with external and internal customers in scheduled meetings.
  • Maintain timely and accurate input and uploading of information into the works management systems, ensuring that all issues are recorded and escalated.
  • Lead the team to manage and coordinate the promoted workload according to defined priorities, estimating resource and duration requirements in line with agreed metrics.
  • Keeping track of Ops non-completions throughout the day and planning top-up work to meet the completion targets.
  • Ensure that all the client and operational requirements are met in a professional and efficient manner. This may include keeping the client and management team to be informed of any ongoing incidents or events.
  • With a ‘Right First Time’ approach, motivate the team to plan preventive, planned and re-active maintenance within contractual SLAs, whilst optimising travel routes and field productivity
  • Provide a positive and innovative input into the team, through provision of solutions to problems and embracing change.
  • Work with teams to enhance data quality in work promotion and scheduling to drive continuous improvement.
  • Building effective working relationships with the field operations.
  • Planning a full schedule of works in line with the set targets i.e. commercial, planning ahead by 7 days.
  • You will ensure the highest level of customer service is achieved, to both external and internal customers, providing excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular 1-2-1s with team members and take responsibility for the coaching and development of the Planning Team
  • Answering incoming calls from Customer and Yorkshire Water in line with the contract SLA's

  • Ability to make decisions in a time pressured environment.
  • Experience managing works requiring customer access and traffic management considerations would be an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experienced Planning Team Leader, preferably in the Utilities Industry
  • Strong understanding of reactive wastewater network maintenance, including repair and survey processes would be an advantage.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software and operational planning tools used within water industry contracts would be an advantage.
  • Experience of working within a fast-paced environment would be an advantage.
  • Competent skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively between different teams.
