The Senior Process Improvement Engineer at Rolls‑Royce’s Power Systems business is responsible for driving accuracy, efficiency and speed of production processes. The role develops and recommends improvement methods, creates project plans to meet plant quality goals, and leads process audits and training activities in the Quality Dojo. The engineer analyzes manufacturing and quality data to uncover trends and translates insights into actionable improvement plans, while also overseeing quality improvements triggered by QFL notifications and Pareto analyses.
The position works closely with cross‑functional and global teams, reviewing production schedules, engineering specifications and orders to understand manufacturing methods. It facilitates KAIZEN workshops, communicates schedules and progress to stakeholders, and serves as project manager for assigned improvement projects, reporting on timelines and budget performance. Promoting a culture of compliance and adherence to the Rolls‑Royce Code of Conduct is also a key expectation.
Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering with at least five years of manufacturing process improvement experience, or alternatively nine years of relevant experience without a degree. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Ideal candidates demonstrate strong analytical and detail‑orientation skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and deep knowledge of manufacturing process design, materials and technical drawings. They should possess robust organization, planning and follow‑up capabilities, proven project‑management and change‑management expertise, and leadership qualities. Additional requirements include willingness to travel domestically and internationally, ability to work overtime, proficiency with PC, MS Office, SAP, Six Sigma Black Belt, and relevant project‑management certifications.
