Assist in the preparation of engineering designs including:
Complete design activities to maintain project schedules and ensure successful project completion
Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members
Assist with site investigations and condition assessments
Assist with contract administration tasks including construction layout, construction observation, contractor submittal review, progress payment preparation and responding to requests for information
Drafting of ongoing and new projects using CAD software
Assist project managers with multi-disciplinary projects
Complete review of safe work practices and performing risk assessments for employee tasks
Contribute to business development activities including client need research, preparation of project proposals and presentations

A degree in engineering from University of Waterloo

One to two years’ co-op or work experience with exposure to consulting is considered an asset
Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request
Knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial engineering standards, regulatory requirements, industry standards, specifications and good engineering practices will be considered an asset
Proficient in the use of current AutoCAD software; working knowledge of Civil 3D, Microstation, OpenRoads Designer or InRoads software will be considered an asset
A variety of EFAP tools and online resources to support well-being are available to all employees.
Strong verbal and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills
Understand project design and implementation activities, including: development of design drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering and contract administration will be considered an asset
