Description

• Establish and maintain incident investigation governance policies, procedures, and protocols aligned with enterprise standards and regulations.
• Develop and deliver training programs on the incident investigation framework, roles, responsibilities, and response protocols.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise and guidance to incident response teams during incidents.
• Analyze incident data to identify trends, lessons learned, and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Safety, Security, Business Continuity, and other functions to integrate incident practices into risk management and resilience strategies.
• Monitor industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to incident management.
• Represent TC Energy in external forums, industry associations, and regulatory engagements.
• Continuously review and update the incident management governance framework to stay effective and adaptable.

Requirements

Our Canada Safety Team is looking to add a Safety Program Specialist, based in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Manager, Contractor Safety, this position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and a governance framework for managing incidents across the Canada Gas asset base. The role serves as a subject‑matter expert and advisor to leaders and teams on best practices and compliance requirements related to incident management. *Not eligible for relocation assistance*.

• Post‑secondary degree in a related field (or equivalent experience) and 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience creating and managing incident investigation governance policies and procedures.
• Certification in root‑cause analysis techniques (preferred).
• Advanced Incident Command System (ICS) certification (preferred).
• Strong digital fluency, data interpretation, and technology skills.
• Proven experience designing and delivering training programs.
• Valid authorization for international travel (Canada, US, Mexico).
• Valid driver’s license and agreement to abstract assessment.
