The role includes full‑time responsibility for project delivery, resource management, financial performance, and process improvement, collaborating with firm leadership, design teams, and clients to support growth and maintain a competitive edge.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve market efficiency and client outcomes
- Provide executive oversight of project delivery, quality, and design standards
- Monitor KPIs (profitability, utilization, backlog, client satisfaction) for decision‑making
- Anticipate and mitigate operational risks affecting delivery, staffing, or finances
- Promote innovative ideas, systems thinking, and evolving practice standards
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost management to meet profitability goals
- Direct staffing and resource allocation to balance workload, utilization, and growth
- Partner with HR and market leaders on workforce planning, recruitment, and talent development
- Collaborate with design, technical, and operations leaders to streamline workflows
- Work with business development to drive growth, sharpen positioning, and evaluate opportunities
- Ensure compliance with quality, sustainability, and regulatory standards
- Guide teams through transitions with clarity, empathy, and decisiveness
- Lead and mentor senior project managers and emerging leaders, fostering collaboration
- Collaborate on performance feedback, succession planning, promotions, and compensation
- Coach project managers to build strong client relationships and improve margins
- Represent the market in firmwide leadership forums and externally as an advocate
- Translate vision into action and align team goals with strategic priorities
- Shape messaging and lead cross‑functional collaboration
- Manage market projects to meet NSR and margin targets
- Champion change initiatives and model adaptability in ambiguous situations

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture, engineering, interior design, or related field
- Professional licensure in architecture, interior design, or engineering preferred
- 12+ years progressive experience with at least 5 years as a successful project manager
- Proven track record managing financial performance, project delivery, and team operations
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills across all organization levels
- Deep understanding of industry trends, delivery models, and client expectations
- Proficiency with Deltek Vantagepoint, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools
- Innovate methods and establish standards across teams
Benefits
The salary range for this position is $160,000 – $175,000, adjusted for office geography. Compensation is based on experience, education, and licensure, and includes eligibility for HGA’s benefits program, annual and success‑sharing bonuses, 401(k) contribution, paid parental leave, health insurance, PTO, and disability coverage.
