Description

• Compile relevant bid documents, quotes, schedules, budget and related items.
• May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Obtain quotes on items such as lighting, power distribution, generators, etc.
• Provide detailed cost estimates that covers defined scope
• Work in conjunction with our internal Low Voltage and Fire Alarm estimators
• Provide support to relay scope definition and associated back up of how scope was covered to the PM team
• Follow up with client as required to determine open items such as alternates, status of pending contract and release
• Review and understand inclusions and exclusions of quotes obtained from outside vendors and select compliant bids, and send required revisions back to non-compliant quoting vendors.
• Enter all project information into recap sheet for review and approval by supervisor
• Establish and maintain contact with client to ensure a smooth contract awarding process
• Establish the clients expectations in order to fully define scope expectations
• Complete the necessary steps upon award of a project to turnover scope, proposal and budget to the project management team
• Perform accurate material takeoffs of electrical system
• Review all bid documents in order in order to define scope and identify potential risks and have strong grasp of requirements along with ability to research and mitigate new risks
• Plan and coordinate all aspects of the estimating process, including working with vendors, subcontractors, subconsultants and clients
• Enter material takeoffs into Accubid
• Schedule and attend estimate review with preconstruction director and project executive of the region supporting the bid
• Follow up with clients after bids have been submitted to obtain key information on how Rex Moore finished
• Working around energized equipment

Requirements

• Frequently required to walk and stand. This position may involve infrequent site visits which will require the ability to walk on uneven surfaces, climb stairs and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Estimator II typically work in an office environment, although they may occasionally visit worksites to observe a project or to meet with clients. When on worksites, Estimator II is to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), always including a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, work boots and high viz vest/ shirt
• Detail orientated
• Ability to interface comfortably with key personnel from the General Contractors team
• Ability to effectively communicate your takeoff approach to other team members and external people
• Push, pull, lift, and carry at least 10 pounds.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specs (electrical and other trades as they pertain to electrical scope)
• This role requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain & snow
• Required to sit at a desk work station for long periods of time.
• Thorough knowledge of Bluebeam, Accubid, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, Dynamics
• Willingness to mentor junior team members
• Required to have visual acuity with or without correction in order to read contract documents, analyze data, view a computer monitor, and proof-read documents to identify errors.
• Ability to work within a team setting
• Ability to meet deadlines with accurate takeoffs and proposals across complex and/or multiple concurrent estimates
• Required to use fingers and hands: type using a computer keyboard, handle, feel, and reach.
• Fully understand Rex Moore’s pre-award processes as well as the services provided to the client
• Willing to work in a potentially fast-paced environment
• Ability to start, build and maintain relationships with clients and 3rd parties such as architects and engineers.
• Ability to hear with or without correction in order to receive and interpret detailed information.
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of electrical systems and applications in the commercial and industrial environment
• Ability to verbally communicate: convey detailed and accurate instructions and information.
• Ability to work independently
