Forestry Specialists identify, inspect, and evaluate trees and brush along utility lines, then submit detailed reports and recommendations to clients. They also plan, direct, and coordinate tree-clearance crews, negotiate access issues, and serve as a liaison among clients, crews, and customers.
ACRT, Inc. is hiring a full-time Forestry Specialist to work outdoors with experienced professionals. The role is suited for candidates with education in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, environmental studies, conservation or related fields, and with relevant work experience.
Candidates must have a two-year or four-year degree in a related discipline, or a high school diploma/GED with two years of UVM experience; five years of related experience can waive the degree requirement. Preferred experience includes vegetation management and ISA Arborist certification, along with competent Microsoft Office skills and optional GIS data-collection proficiency. The role requires a self-motivated, organized individual comfortable working independently, with strong communication, multitasking, and time-management abilities.
The position demands the ability to work in varied terrain and inclement weather, with flexible schedules that may include nights, weekends, and occasional overnight travel. A valid driver’s license is required, and the candidate must pass pre-employment drug screening and a background check.
