Description

The Maintenance Engineer will oversee process, ancillary, and facilities equipment, ensuring all machinery is safe to operate while leading continuous‑improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include establishing plant safety objectives, maintaining ISO‑compliant records, supporting environmental compliance, and driving preventive and predictive maintenance programs that enhance productivity and reduce costs. The role also involves budgeting assistance, inventory control, and leading 5S and TPM efforts, serving as a technical resource for problem‑solving across the site.

• Establish and lead plant safety objectives; ensure all tasks are performed safely.
• Enforce compliance with safety policies for employees and contractors.
• Maintain equipment drawings and ISO‑compliant maintenance records.
• Support plant compliance with provincial and federal environmental regulations.
• Identify and resolve chronic yield, uptime, and productivity issues.
• Assist with budget preparation and prepare cost justifications for projects.
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance to boost productivity and cut costs.
• Manage stockroom inventory and control related expenses.
• Lead 5S and TPM initiatives and develop departmental training programs.
• Drive initiative, strategic planning, and effective communication across teams.

Requirements

The job requires regular communication, frequent sitting, and occasional standing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 25 pounds, with specific visual abilities needed for detailed work. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, moderate to loud noise levels, and occasional contact with machinery, and reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

• Travel overnight or internationally up to 10% of the time as required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; TPM, Six Sigma Green/Black preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or a related field.
• Produce 2D/3D models and possess knowledge of machine design materials and manufacturing.
• Demonstrate situational leadership, coaching, and delegation skills.

Benefits
