The FGD Production Team Member (FGDPTM) operates under general supervision to ensure proper startup, steady‑state operation, and shutdown of the Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) systems, including absorber/reactor, reactant preparation, dewatering, and auxiliary equipment. The role involves inspecting, monitoring, correcting problems within control, recording critical data, and maintaining operational logs.
FGDPTMs may perform mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical maintenance tasks, including electrical switching and tagging, and are expected to complete the FGD Production Team Member training program, perform assigned work, and participate in ongoing training. The position may also require directing, training, or assisting other employees as needed.
Work is performed in a power‑plant environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, humidity, and requires climbing ladders, entering vessels, and accessing hard‑to‑reach or elevated areas. All tasks must be carried out safely, protecting personnel and equipment, and in compliance with permit requirements, company policies, and the Cinergy safety manual.
Candidates must meet the company’s general qualifications, hold a high‑school diploma or equivalent, and typically have three years of industrial maintenance or operations experience (or equivalent training). A valid driver’s license is required, and successful completion of the company’s training program and promotional examinations is mandatory. Travel may be 5‑15 % and relocation assistance is available when applicable.
