  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of topographical/laser scanning surveyors, CAD technicians, utilities / CCTV surveyors and digital experts within the Manchester Department.
  • Allocate resources efficiently, address issues, and optimize the estimating strategy.
  • Identify sales opportunities by establishing contacts with potential clients within the target market leading to the development of a pipeline of new opportunities that meet with the business.

Proven geospatial solutions through design, construction and inuse phases of projects across six key sectors; Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Energy, Utilities, Property and Natural Environment.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as Head of our Manchester region. This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, growth, and performance of the department. As the Head of Department for Manchester, you will drive business development, manage teams, and ensure successful delivery of projects. You will play a key role in transforming and growing the geospatial landscape of the company while maintaining the high standards and quality that Murphy Geospatial is known for. Reporting to the relevant Directors, the successful candidate will be based out of our Manchester office, with the option for hybrid working.

  • Ability to work out of our Manchester office.
  • Enthusiastic and structured approach to planning with good problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and to develop new applications and projects, as well as working within an existing team
  • Possess a strong background in surveying, or related fields, with a deep understanding of digital construction processes and technologies.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role, managing teams and delivering complex digital engineering projects.
  • Proven commercial awareness and ability to create business cases for innovations and improved workflows and efficiencies.
  • Ability to travel nationwide when required
  • Valid UK manual drivers’ licence
  • Health, Safety and Environmental Training – SPA, RAMS, lone working etc
  • Strong knowledge of geospatial instruments, workflows and systems.
  • An ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads and achieve critical deadlines
  • Degree in surveying (or related field), Master’s degree beneficial.
