Lead commissioning of 1–50 MW energy storage systems and protection relays by overseeing installation verification, energization, functional testing, and customer handover while developing and executing detailed test plans, procedures, and safety protocols.

Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English required.
Familiarity with energy storage systems (BESS, flywheel, hybrid systems), renewable integration, and SCADA/control interfaces.
Skilled in preparing and reviewing commissioning procedures, FAT/SAT reports, protection settings, test records, and turnover packages, with clear communication to utilities, customers, and internal stakeholders.
Strong background in arc flash studies, grounding design, and power system modeling using industry-standard tools (ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, etc.).
Proficiency with test equipment (relay test sets, insulation resistance testers, power analyzers, etc.).
Willingness to travel to project sites (approximately 50%).
Strong understanding of distribution level voltage protection schemes, and grid interconnection requirements.
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills in high-voltage/high-power environments.
Specialized testing for microgrid design process (AC microgrid, DC microgrid and Hybrid microgrid), with FESS, BESS and EVs including benchmark compilation, microgrid element modeling, control system design, information and communication technologies, power and communication modeling, black start capabilities, power quality requirements.
Knowledge of microgrid control strategies, including black-start, islanding, re-synchronization, and seamless DER integration.
Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E, UL 9540/9540A, IEC standards, and utility interconnection guidelines.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems focus strongly preferred).
Experience with high-power testing & validation, including full-load tests, step response, and compliance verification (IEEE 1547, UL 1741, UL 9540A).
Must have the ability to safely lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Ability to observe, detect and respond to audible and visual machine malfunction warnings.
Ability to work in confined spaces.
Ability to don personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to, respiratory protective equipment with proper seal, coveralls, ear protection, gloves, eye protection & safety helmet.
Ability to read, identify, observe and recognize details, color-coding and fine print at close range on associated engineering drawings.
