Leading development of plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates for a variety of port projects
Independently preparing basis of design, design calculations, technical reports, alternatives analyses, and study reports
Mentoring a team of developing port and maritime engineers
Leveraging existing industry relationships to promote Volkert ports services and cross-sell across all disciplines
Utilizing your appropriate understanding of interdisciplinary requirements for port projects to improve project processes and perform QA/QC reviews
Conducting ongoing business development activities
Independently performing and supervising structural analysis and design for marine and upland components
Hiring, managing, and motivating staff
Serving as a practice builder and growing the SE Region’s ports practice
Independently performing and supervising berthing and mooring analyses
Attending client meetings and performing site visits

Existing relationships with port entities in FL
Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil/Structural Engineering

Minimum 10 years of experience in analysis and design of port structures
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proven experience in business development
Ability to hire, manage, and motivate staff
Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Florida
Applying a strong understanding of maritime codes and references including UFC, PIANC, ASCE-61
A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
Previous experience in analysis and design of medium to large scale ports/maritime/structures and preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates
