Role
Description

Selects type and size of pipe, and related materials and equipment according to specifications
Install hangers, supports, valves and components according to piping system plans and specifications.
Bolt, clamp, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
Cuts, threads, bends, and assembles the pipes.
Operate forklifts & overhead cranes.
Fabricate piping systems for mechanical installations for use on commercial construction projects
Prepare, cut, fabricate, layout, fit, position, and assemble piping components together in various positions.
Hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment.
Maintain safe and clean work environment.
Perform leak tests to ensure the quality of the pipe and the piping systems.
Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work including locations, quantities, and material specs.

Requires basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills.
OSHA 10 hour preferred
Exposure to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and manufacturers manuals and instructions.
Ability to work from ladders and man lifts from various heights and operate the equipment as needed
Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening
Ability to travel, as needed, for projects
Must be able to fulfill the essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and a safe manner.
Welding certification preferred
Must be able to read and understand weld symbols, weld procedures, mechanical and structural drawings.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals in order to determine work procedures such as ISO’s and blueprints
5 years’ experience with pipe fitting processes using piping such as cast iron, copper preferred
Proper identification and use of tools required for tasks. (grinders, drills, beveling machine, etc.)
Ability to walk, stand, squat, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, climb, reach, grasp and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
High school diploma or GED preferred
Ability to pass a physical ability test
Regular and predictable attendance.
Ability to pass MVR check (if applicable) or must have reliable transportation
Able to work from ladders and man lifts at various heights.
Must complete company specific welding, soldering and/or brazing test for employment.
The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
Work performed primarily inside but must go outside at times for product and various tasks.
