Key responsibilities include performing load‑flow, short‑circuit, power‑quality, and arc‑flash analyses with various modeling tools, as well as sizing calculations and solution conceptualisation using available products. The engineer will ensure compliance with grid codes and customer specifications, interact with customers and internal teams such as sales, tendering, R&D and product specialists, and support tenders and projects across industrial, renewable, data‑centre and transportation sectors.
Hitachi Energy is hiring a Power System Application Engineer with an electrical engineering background and expertise in simulation and power‑quality studies. The role will shape sustainable grid solutions by conducting power system studies, simulations, and calculations for renewable energy, data centre, and industrial grid‑integration projects.
Collaboration with remote teams is essential to enhance communication and coordination throughout projects, while upholding Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity. The role also requires adherence to external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems or power electronics, and have 8–10 years of experience as a Power System/Power‑Quality Engineer or similar role. Required skills include deep knowledge of high, medium and low voltage AC/DC distribution, system modelling, analytical abilities, attention to detail, and strong English communication skills.
