The Rooftop Loader is responsible for loading, unloading, transporting, and positioning roofing materials on residential and commercial rooftops. The role works closely with the driver to ensure safe, timely, and efficient delivery while upholding SRS safety standards and excellent customer service.
Key duties include manually and mechanically loading and unloading materials, operating conveyor belt systems when certified, verifying and reconciling material orders, and maintaining thorough inventory documentation. The loader also assists with scaffolding assembly, inspects equipment, reports hazards, and provides responsive service to roofing contractors.
The position reports to the Site Supervisor/Manager and has no direct reports. Frequent local travel within the branch delivery area is required, with occasional overnight trips for branch support or emergency relief. Physical demands involve lifting up to 100 lb, working at heights, and standing, walking, bending, and climbing on varied roof pitches while wearing PPE such as harnesses.
Minimum qualifications include reliable transportation, U.S. work authorization, ability to pass background and drug checks, and the physical stamina to lift 80‑100 lb repeatedly. Candidates must have basic math skills, strong English communication, safety awareness, and 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience. Preferred qualifications add forklift certification, over a year of roofing‑related experience, and Spanish language ability.
Competencies required are adherence to OSHA and company safety protocols, accurate reading of work orders, collaborative teamwork with drivers and contractors, and consistent reliability and attendance. The role demands flexibility to adjust to varying work hours, weather conditions, and customer needs while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction.
