Serve as a technical resource by offering guidance on inspection best practices to WMATA inspectors;
Develop and support QC inspection process improvements;

National Tunnel Inspection Standards (NTIS);
Proposed Professional Engineer (PE) must possess the following certifications:
Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.), including a minimum requirement of five (5) years of hands-on experience on structural inspection and testing experience, on major transit system structures;
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis on Structures;
Possession of the following knowledge and credentials is preferred:
National Certified Tunnel Inspector (NCTI);
FHWA-NHI-130078 Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges; and
Proposed Engineer in Training (EIT) must possess the following certifications:
FHWA-NHI-130110 Tunnel Safety Inspection;
Completion of a 10-hour OSHA safety course.

Capability to perform QC of structural inspections related to:
Tunnel Operations, Maintenance, Inspection and Evaluation (TOMIE) Manual;
Experience in structural inspection testing. Ability to identify and recommend the most applicable non-destructive (NDT) and destructive testing methods. Experience using Inspection tools such as the “D-Meter” and other NDT tools such as Dye Penetrant;
Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate schedules with on-site structural inspection crews and provide detailed and accurate QC reporting on field inspection tasks and inspection reports;
Experience with providing recommendations on prioritizing structural asset management strategies, including maintenance and renewals;
