The Role

Overview

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery on 3rd shift.

Tasks

Support changeover process for welders, mills, secondary punch machines, and specifically to California rooftop press. Support with on-the-job training for other team members of the maintenance team. Test and adjust components to ensure proper operation. Support and provides input for continuous improvement activities. Perform general maintenance work on buildings as assigned. Inspect A/C motors, gearboxes, presses, resistance welders, and other roll forming equipment. Prioritizing health and security Act as a team player within the maintenance team. Offers support, guidance, and assistance to your colleagues when they require help with maintenance tasks. Prepare and provide reports and updates as required by your leader and management. Share insights and information relevant to machine performance and maintenance activities. Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance. Continuously monitor production line efficiency. Promptly engage with the operations and production teams to address and resolve issues that require attention. Provide timely updates on scheduled preventive maintenance activities to avoid major downtime. Provide regular and consistent updates on machine conditions, maintenance progress, and any issues that may impact production. Respond promptly to requests and inquiries from your maintenance leadership regarding production lines and any issues on the line. Identify critical spares and consumable parts that need to be purchased. Ensure timely communication is provided to prevent misunderstandings and minimize any machine downtime. Conduct regular inspections of machines, following standard operating procedures (SOP), and instructions. Collaborate with your leadership to understand and execute assignments that align with your skillset and expertise. Report on the progress of assigned tasks and responsibilities. Suggest improvements and enhancements to the preventive maintenance schedule for machines. Maintain cleanliness of area according to 5S principles to provide a safe and effective working space. Perform preventive maintenance on machines. Replace worn parts and fluids as needed. Communicate daily with your direct supervisor and maintenance leadership regarding your assignments and the current statuses of machines. Consult manuals and seek clarification when necessary to ensure proper operation and maintenance of machines.

What You Bring

Demonstrates ability to work in team, treat colleagues with respect and has a high level of accountability / punctuality. Proficiency in using hand and power tools. Experience with welding and making minor repairs and/or adjustments. Knowledge of environmental regulations, adherence to applicable safety protocols. Knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), basic understanding of function and operation. Experience specifically with presses and mills. Must have basic computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft software (i.e. Excel, Outlook, etc.) At Haydon, we bring the spark that shapes tomorrow's possibilities! Able to work in a fast-paced environment and ensure accuracy. 6+ years of repairing/maintaining manufacturing equipment. Listening with curiosity and open minds Proven record of strong attendance. Ability to operate material handling equipment including propane forklifts. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Comprehension of machinery electrical requirements. Diagnose and repair mechanical problems. Comprehension and experience with hydraulic systems including maintenance and troubleshooting. Have basic understanding of Human Machine Interface (HMI) to assist and help with troubleshooting. Comprehension of single and 3 phase power requirements. Must be able to read and write.
