  • Troubleshoot to the component level with equipment being tested.
  • Solve inspection problems encountered in process inspection and test.
  • Perform subassembly inspection, unit testing and inspection, fixture testing, and circuit board repair.
  • Provide customer troubleshooting over the telephone.
  • Comply with all safety regulations.
  • Decide on allowable variations, determine cause and effect of malfunctions or defects.
  • Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures.
  • Work with high voltages and currents.
  • Perform occasional off-site service calls.

Sterling Engineering is looking for an Electronic Test Technician in Brookfield, WI. This opportunity is with a growing company and involves performing board-level repairs, testing, and calibration of electronic components and systems.

  • Strong blueprint interpretation and mathematical skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • 2+ years of experience in electronics and electrical/mechanical functions; up to three years to become fully proficient with products, inspection, and test principles.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from drawings, bills of material, and specifications.
  • Ability to operate various hand and power tools, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.
  • Associate’s degree in electronics or related field, or equivalent experience.
