Procurement Specialist for Autonomous Vehicle Systems

Description

• Cost Optimization: Drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and supply chain resilience through alternative sourcing and value engineering.
• Supplier Management: Evaluate supplier capabilities, negotiate contracts and pricing, and monitor ongoing performance (quality, cost, delivery).
• Technical Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, R&D, and production teams to translate Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical drawings into sourcing requirements.
• Strategic Sourcing: Identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers for mechanical, electrical, and electronic components used in autonomous vehicle systems.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, export control laws, and applicable defense or dual-use regulations.
• Procurement Planning: Support production planning by maintaining accurate lead times, stock levels, and delivery schedules aligned with low-volume manufacturing.
• ERP/Systems: Maintain accurate procurement data and supplier records in ERP or MRP systems.
• Local Procurement Focus: Prioritize and develop local UAE or regional suppliers that can meet engineering and quality specifications.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of technical drawings, mechanical/electronic components, and supplier qualification processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Business Administration.
• Proven ability to work in low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environments.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Minimum 5–7 years of procurement experience in automotive, defense, robotics, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
• Familiarity with UAE procurement regulations and local supplier market is a strong advantage.
