The Associate Estimator will lead best‑practice estimation on large, complex infrastructure commissions across sectors such as Energy, Water, Transportation, and Defence. The role ensures client objectives are met by delivering value‑added estimation services from feasibility through construction, while communicating effectively with clients and contractors.
Key duties include developing top‑tier estimates, leading quantum assessments and optioneering/value‑engineering studies, building market‑aligned rates, and supporting budget, baseline, and forecast development. The estimator will identify process‑improvement opportunities, engage with project cost and commercial staff, manage stakeholder expectations, and produce clear, benchmarked estimation reports with transparent assumptions.
The position also involves presenting recommendations to clients and supply‑chain partners, as well as mentoring junior staff and upskilling internal and external stakeholders in cost and commercial assurance. Strong communication, report writing, and presentation abilities are essential.
Candidates must have demonstrable experience delivering estimation and commercial excellence, sector leadership in areas such as energy or transport, and the ability to work autonomously in fast‑paced environments. A relevant professional degree (e.g., Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying) and knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts are required, with chartered status and security clearance preferred.
