The role emphasizes hands‑on learning of relay fundamentals, protective schemes, controls, alarms, distribution SCADA, communications, and related procedures.
Candidates must be enrolled in a two‑ or four‑year Engineering Technology or related program, be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driver’s license, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher, with graduation no earlier than August 2026. Preferred applicants have a GPA of 3.0+, have completed 12 credit hours of specific utility courses, and demonstrate strong communication, leadership, teamwork, and technical computer skills.
The position requires on‑site work with standard safety equipment, the ability to lift 50 lb, and access to heights or suspended platforms. Relocation assistance is provided where applicable; the role does not offer visa sponsorship or union representation. Duke Energy is committed to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity for all employees.
Applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM on Thursday, February 12, 2026 to be considered. Duke Energy offers a career focused on making a difference in people’s lives, with a supportive work environment, growth opportunities, recognition, and competitive compensation and benefits.
