The Supervisor – Gas Meter Testing & Analysis reports to the Manager of Meter Services & Logistics and is based in East Hartford, CT. This full‑time office role offers a base salary ranging from $84,000 to $134,000, depending on experience and location. The position oversees the Gas Meter shop and is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and reporting meter test data for CNG and SCG meters.
Key duties include directing and coaching the meter shop team, ensuring annual, periodic and complaint meter testing schedules are met, and controlling the efficient, cost‑effective flow and storage of meters, ERTs and regulator inventory. The supervisor also leads customer notification efforts, investigates new metering technologies, supports standardization across Avangrid operating companies, and mentors newer staff on gas meter and regulator knowledge.
The role requires extensive data analysis work, utilizing SAP, SAS, SPSS, Access, Excel, SQL/Oracle and other tools to produce statistically valid results, graphs, reports and presentations for internal, regulatory and customer audiences. The supervisor independently manages daily assignments, tracks metrics, resolves billing and meter‑read discrepancies, and maintains strict confidentiality while ensuring a safe, clean workplace.
Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in an analytical discipline and at least five years of relevant experience (or seven years with an associate’s degree), knowledge of gas metering and regulator applications, experience with SAP query programming and data cleansing, and strong quantitative, communication and problem‑solving skills. Preferred qualifications include experience performing data or billing analysis and familiarity with gas line installations and troubleshooting.
