- Shadow senior engineers, inspectors, and construction managers to gain exposure to construction management practices.
- Participate in project meetings with contractors, engineers, and agency representatives.
- Maintain organized project records, including submittals, RFIs, correspondence, meeting minutes, and change order logs.
- Monitor site conditions for adherence to safety protocols.
- Review basic construction plans, specifications, and schedules with guidance from senior staff.
- Communicate observations and issues clearly to senior staff for resolution.
- Support preparation of status reports, schedules, and cost tracking updates.
- Document daily construction activities, quantities, and conditions in inspection reports.
- Support quality assurance/quality control for work in place, including material verification/testing, testing coordination with others, and field measurements.
- Report on any unsafe practices or conditions to supervisory staff immediately.
- Assist with on-site inspection of construction activities to verify compliance with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and safety requirements.
