In this role you’ll keep automation projects moving by supporting data-center startups, performing on-site mechanical, electrical, and control checks, and leading startup, checkout, and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment and manufacturing systems. You’ll partner with automation and controls engineers to test, troubleshoot, and validate systems, and provide clear communication to customers and project teams. Travel follows a days-on/days-off rotation such as 5-on/2-off, 10-on/4-off, or 14-on/7-off, exposing you to new challenges and locations each project.
We’re opening our 2026 hiring pipeline for curious, adaptable problem-solvers who prefer travel and hands-on work over a desk. If you can laugh through flight delays, figure things out on the fly, and enjoy solving complex problems, you may be a perfect fit.
Our four-week paid training prepares technically skilled individuals for the field. Success requires a basic foundation in electrical systems, programming, and communication networking; if you lack experience in these areas, this role may not be right for you.
We are looking for candidates who love travel, can thrive when plans change, and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills. Required qualifications include living within 50 miles of a major airport, having a personal vehicle within 45 days, authorization to work in the U.S., and a technical degree or equivalent 3+ years of hands-on experience in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering. Preferred experience includes working knowledge of electrical systems, programming, and communication networking.
The role’s essential physical functions involve walking long distances across large facilities, climbing ladders or working at heights, lifting up to 50 lb, and standing, kneeling, or reaching for extended periods, often in varied environments such as construction sites or outdoor settings.
Working with us means combining work and travel: you’ll visit new cities, tackle unique projects, and earn travel rewards while serving customers across North America, with no office to report to. Compensation starts at $60,000-$75,000 plus per-diem, mileage reimbursement, utilization and weekend bonuses, and we offer annual merit raises and a 5 % salary increase after six months. Benefits include health, dental, life insurance, a matching 401(k), disability coverage, paid vacation and flexible time off after 18 months. Our people-first culture emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, humor, and leaders who have risen through the ranks.
