In this role you will install fiber and low‑voltage services from the entry point to network locations such as IT rooms and telecom closets, route and label fiber and Ethernet cabling, and terminate both fiber and Ethernet connections. You will test installations with light testing, OTDR, and continuity tools, troubleshoot issues, and maintain a focus on safety, quality workmanship, and site cleanliness. Work is primarily indoors in various commercial environments, with occasional outdoor tasks and the need to access ceilings, attics, and elevated areas using ladders, lifts, and hand tools.
- Install fiber and low‑voltage services from building entry to network locations (IT rooms, telecom closets, etc.).
- Route, pull, secure, and label fiber and Ethernet (Cat5/Cat6) cabling throughout commercial buildings and new construction sites.
- Terminate and splice fiber (mechanical/fusion) and terminate Ethernet connections at wall jacks, patch panels, and equipment.
- Test and verify installations using light testing, OTDR, and continuity testing to ensure quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation or service issues in new construction and existing commercial buildings.
- Work primarily indoors in offices, hospitals, hotels, schools, warehouses, and multi‑unit buildings, with occasional outdoor tasks.
- Access ceilings, attics, crawl spaces, and elevated locations using ladders, lifts, and hand tools.
- Collaborate with installers and supervisors while also performing tasks independently.
- Communicate professionally with customers, site contacts, and internal teams.
- Organize materials, tools, and daily tasks to meet project timelines.
- Maintain safety, quality workmanship, and job‑site cleanliness.

The ideal candidate has prior cable or fiber installation experience, strong customer service and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to operate testing equipment and hand tools. Physical requirements include climbing ladders, working in tight or elevated spaces, and meeting a 275‑lb weight limit for safe ladder work; accommodations may be available. A valid government‑issued photo ID, driver’s license (if driving), and successful completion of background, MVR, and drug screening are required.
- Prior experience in cable or fiber installation preferred.
- Strong customer service, time management, problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to operate testing equipment and related software.
- Proficiency with hand tools, wire identification, and measuring devices.
- Capability to carry, climb, and work on a 28‑ft extension ladder (≈75 lb load).
- Physical ability to work in tight, elevated spaces and lift up to 70 % of the time.
- Must weigh ≤275 lb for safe ladder work; accommodations may be considered.
- Valid government‑issued photo ID; driver’s license required if driving.
- Pass pre‑employment checks (MVR, background, drug screen).
