The Plant Manager oversees the treating plant’s daily operations, reporting to the General Manager and leading a team of about 25 staff. The role focuses on producing high‑quality treated lumber while maintaining a safe work environment and meeting corporate and environmental objectives.
Key contributions include directing plant operations, setting production goals, ensuring quality control, and complying with environmental regulations. The manager collaborates with internal stakeholders on inventory, scheduling, and shipping, and participates in weekly production meetings and daily safety briefings.
In addition to operational duties, the manager handles human‑resources functions for unionized plant employees and administrative staff, fostering teamwork, coordinating training, and addressing employee concerns to maintain morale and performance.
The position requires at least five years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, strong coaching and organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems. Physical requirements include wearing steel‑toed boots, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing typical plant floor activities.
The role is a permanent full‑time position based in Prince George, BC, with standard Monday‑Friday hours and flexibility for early, late, or weekend work as needed.
