Quality & Safety Assurance Manager (SHEQ)

Description

• Lead and support investigations into incidents, non-conformances, and client concerns, ensuring thorough root cause analysis, transparent communication, and robust corrective actions,
• Ensure client-specific SHEQ requirements are fully integrated into operational delivery plans, and that all documentation, processes, and reporting meet contractual and legislative standards,
• Manage the end-to-end audit and compliance process, ensuring timely completion, consistent quality, and meaningful feedback to both internal stakeholders and clients,
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing informed, solution-driven guidance on all health, safety, environmental and welfare matters, building confidence through expertise, transparency, and timely communication,
• Hold regular performance and development reviews,
• Embed SHEQ input across all project stages, from tender and mobilisation through delivery and close-out, ensuring client deliverables are achieved safely and compliantly,
• Champion a positive SHEQ culture through active coaching, behavioural engagement, and visible leadership, embedding accountability and ownership throughout operational teams,
• Support the continuous development and governance of the Company Business Management System, ensuring it remains aligned to client requirements, industry best practice, and audit findings,
• Lead the coordination and delivery of Toolbox Talks and communications,
• Contribute to and oversee the preparation of Project Health & Safety Plans,
• Provide operational and technical SHEQ support to Operations, collaborating closely with Contract Managers and Client Representatives to address issues, identify trends, and prevent reoccurrence,
• Oversee maintenance of all registers, records, and compliance documentation, ensuring integrity, traceability, and readiness for client or regulatory audit,
• Support and represent the business in client meetings, presenting SHEQ performance data, progress against action plans, and demonstrating continual improvement.
• Produce clear, data-driven audit reports and trend analysis for the Senior Management Team and clients, highlighting performance, emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement,
• Maintain full control of compliance case files and action tracking, ensuring timely close-out and visibility of progress to both senior management and clients,
• Working closing with Head of SHEQ to lead the delivery of a proactive, client focused compliance and assurance framework across all contracts, ensuring safety, quality, and performance standards are consistently met and exceeded,

Requirements

• A full, clean driving licence,
• Qualified in Single Phase 1 Rate and 2 Rate metering,
• NEBOSH General Certificate is desirable.
• Compliance with Gas Safe and MOCOPA standards, Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office,
• Strong people skills,
• Experience within the Gas and Electric Metering industry,
• Effective organisational and delegation skills,
• 3 Phase certification is desirable,
• Experience in the installation and auditing of metering work,
• Minimum gas qualifications of CCN1/CMA1 and MET1,
• Experience in planning activities is desirable.
• Experience using job management systems is desirable,
• Excellent time management skills,
• Experience in secretarial or administrative work is desirable,
• IOSH Managing Safely certification is desirable,
