The Maintenance Worker installs, maintains and repairs the facility's building structures and systems, including plumbing, electrical wiring and fixtures, machinery, equipment, electronics, vehicles and grounds. They also maintain and repair the physical structure of the facility to ensure safe and secure operations.
The role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing machines and equipment, installing or repairing electrical apparatus and components, performing preventative maintenance according to a defined plan, and supervising and tracking inmates or residents assigned to the Maintenance Department.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of general maintenance or construction experience (or equivalent technical/trade education), a valid driver's license, and a minimum age of 21. Knowledge of building construction and system operations is preferred.
