Material Engineer

Description

• Select appropriate materials based on project requirements, quality standards, and budget (low, medium, high options).
• Investigate material-related structural issues and advise on maintenance, repair, and replacement solutions.
• Monitor material usage, wastage, and efficiency; prepare reports for project engineers and management.
• Calculate material quantities, consumption, and costs, including secondary material requirements.
• Research, analyze, and evaluate construction materials to determine suitability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Map material resource codes to cost codes for accurate cost tracking and control.
• Maintain and periodically update material databases, considering sustainability and environmental impact.

Requirements

Detail-oriented materials professional with experience in researching, analyzing, and selecting construction materials to meet technical, cost, and sustainability requirements. Skilled in evaluating material performance, calculating costs, monitoring consumption and wastage, and maintaining accurate material data. Provides technical support to engineers and managers through detailed reports, cost coding alignment, and recommendations for maintenance, repair, and efficient use of primary and secondary materials.
