The Network Analyst supports the deployment and maintenance of customer premises equipment (CPE) and ensures reliable fiber connectivity for residential and business customers. This role involves direct interaction with customers, troubleshooting network issues, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver high-quality service. Additionally, the analyst is responsible for the operational functionality of the District’s primary enterprise networks, including ethernet, wireless, and Storage Area Network (SAN) systems, and must possess excellent customer service skills in an office environment.
Key responsibilities include coordinating fiber service requests such as disconnects, reconnects, and line extensions, troubleshooting connectivity issues remotely, and monitoring network performance. The analyst provides technical support and guidance to customers, collaborates with CNS Fiber Technicians for service activation, participates in testing new fiber technologies, and designs and implements ethernet, wireless, and SAN solutions to meet strategic goals. Additional duties involve diagnosing enterprise network problems, maintaining accurate records and help‑desk tickets, performing both on‑premises and remote diagnostics, writing knowledge‑base articles, and operating with minimal supervision.
Other duties require regular, professional interaction with District customers, delivering courteous and efficient service that reflects positively on the organization. The analyst must uphold the District’s mission, vision, and safety policies, respect employees and customers, act as a steward of public assets, foster teamwork, stay current with industry technology, ensure cross‑training within the department, and perform any other assigned tasks.
Candidates should hold an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent experience) and possess at least three years of fiber network support and CPE configuration experience. Required knowledge includes fiber optic technologies, GPON/Active Ethernet, Layer 2/3 networking, IPv4/IPv6, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, routing (static, BGP, MPLS), and SAN architecture. Desired experience includes working with vendor equipment such as Zhone/DZS, Nokia, Calix, Aruba wireless, NetApp and PureStorage SAN, and holding certifications like CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or FOA CFOT.
The position is non‑exempt hourly (grade 8) with a salary range of $34.76–$50.38 based on qualifications and includes a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, disability, and leave). Requirements include a valid driver’s license, successful background check, and the ability to perform physical tasks such as frequent computer use and handling materials up to 40 lb.
