Senior Landscape Architect

Description

• Apply strong plant knowledge, construction methods, and cost considerations to ensure buildable, high-quality landscapes.
• Lead and grow the Landscape Architecture group while fostering a positive, creative, and collaborative team environment.
• Guide projects efficiently through permitting, bidding, and construction administration phases.
• Maintain high standards of graphic quality through both digital and hand-drawn illustrations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, agencies, consultants, and design partners.
• Support marketing and business development efforts to help grow the practice.
• Manage and contribute to the preparation of planning, schematic design (SD), design development (DD), and construction document (CD) deliverables.
• Coordinate closely with planning, civil engineering, and survey teams to deliver cohesive and efficient project solutions.
• Prepare and lead project presentations in both public and private settings, including design review boards, entitlement processes, and community meetings.
• Oversee design development, technical documentation, and project management across a diverse range of project types.

Requirements

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and guide production teams.
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills across diverse audiences.
• Experience in both master planning and landscape architecture project types.
• Strong working knowledge of plant materials, trees, and groundcover selections (code requirements + aesthetics).
• Technical knowledge of landscape construction methods.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines.
• Experience leading projects through design review, entitlement, and public approval processes is highly desired.
• Proven experience working collaboratively with city/county planning departments, public works agencies, neighborhood groups, developers, and design partners.
• Georgia Licensed Landscape Architect (required).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office.
• Understanding construction costs and ability to design within project budgets.
• Solid project management and client management skills.
• Strong design and graphic capabilities—digital and hand-drawn.
