The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will develop, plan, and execute manufacturing engineering activities at the Sherman plant, actively participating in and leading continuous improvement programs. This role focuses on improving plant safety, quality, and productivity through both capital and non‑capital projects.
Key responsibilities include providing technical direction, training plant personnel on equipment and processes, supporting initiatives to enhance the EHS culture, and managing at least one MESH element. The engineer will also lead participation in the Sherman Annual Productivity Improvement process, resolve quality defects on the floor using the 8D methodology within 15 days, and assist with VAVE and NPI projects.
Additional duties involve supporting manufacturing tasks for fabrication, paint, welding, and assembly processes such as laser cutting, punching, stamping, bending, and robotics; maintaining and evolving Total Productive Maintenance plans; creating Standard Work documentation; and ensuring the efficient integration of new processes and systems into operations.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution and have a minimum of two years of direct manufacturing engineering experience. Required technical experience includes SS, CRS, and Al TIG & MIG welding, powder coat and E‑Coat painting, metal fabrication, and familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma.
