Accurately measure load dimensions and weight to ensure compliance with OS/OW permit requirements and State and Federal regulations.
Communicate effectively with project managers, equipment operators, and other team members to coordinate equipment transport and delivery schedules in a direct and friendly manner.
Ensuring accuracy of pickup and delivery.
Load and secure heavy construction equipment and machinery onto the trailer for transport in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
Documenting equipment pick up and deliveries.
Accurately navigate a tractor trailer using instructions, maps or GPS, to a wide variety of locations both on road and off.
Safely operate a tractor trailer in a manner that reduces risk and liabilities.
Perform basic maintenance and repairs on the truck and trailer when necessary.
Assist with loading and unloading equipment and materials at job sites as needed.
Maintain accurate records of trip details, including mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance reports and hours worked.
Always adhere to Emery Sapp & Sons safety policies and procedures.
Properly record hours worked using an ELD in compliance with Hours of Service regulations.
Perform and properly document pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure they are in a safe and legal condition.

High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and best practices for equipment transport.
Basic mechanical skills for minor truck and trailer maintenance.
Occasional heavy lifting.
Extensive travel may be required.
2 years of heavy haul experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience operating lowboy trailers and transporting heavy equipment preferred.
Valid DOT Med Cert with Non-Excepted Interstate self-certification.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Hazardous Materials endorsement on CDL preferred, but not required.
7 to 8 Axels
Ability to operate equipment during loading and unloading processes.
Valid Class A CDL with Tank endorsement.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with a high degree of accuracy.
Properly wear and safely use PPE.
Ability to read, understand and navigate using paper and/or digital maps.
