- 2+ years of experience in San Antonio or greater South Central Texas region, with a focus on historic and Spanish Colonial sites.
- Master’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field.
- Physical capability to perform tasks such as extended walking, standing, digging, bending, kneeling, and lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
- Proven ability to direct and mentor field and lab technicians.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in archaeological investigations, specifically Phase I surveys, Phase II testing, and Phase III data recoveries, artifact analysis, and report writing on projects in Texas.
- Proficiency in Section 106 of the NHPA, Antiquities Code of Texas, and NEPA.
- Leadership experience in testing and data recovery project.
- Experience in archival research.
- Familiarity with digital data collection platforms and Global Positioning Systems (GPS).
- Experience in bioarcheological and/or faunal analysis.
- Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Candidates selected for an interview must provide a technical writing sample.
- Ability to work independently in the field in varying field conditions.
