Real estate department of a major insurance company seeks an architectural & engineering or construction management professional to provide in-house expertise to support mortgage lending, investment and development activities in Southeastern US. The professional will be responsible for managing and reviewing external consultants performing physical and environmental due diligence for an active lending and investment platform. The position requires knowledge of design, construction and building systems for investment property types, and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects. Candidate should have a thorough knowledge of site & civil conditions, structural systems, building enclosure, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP), fire protection, life safety and vertical transportation systems. Additionally, candidate should be familiar with environmental and seismic risk assessment and energy conservation practices as well as LEED and other sustainability designations.
