Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Coordinator supports planning and execution of procurement activities for materials, equipment, services, and subcontractors during the bid phase. The role ensures compliance with company policies, coordinates procurement documentation, and facilitates communication between internal teams and external suppliers, working closely with estimating, operations, finance, and administration teams across North America.
The Coordinator performs all procurement and contracting activities, including pre‑qualification, tender management, negotiation, and contract preparation, while coordinating RFP processes to guarantee timely and compliant submissions. They analyze quotations and proposals, advise project teams on specification changes, delivery schedules, and pricing, and cultivate strong, long‑term supplier relationships to enhance performance and the Acciona brand.
Additional duties include researching local market conditions, tracking key procurement metrics, preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports, and implementing process improvements to boost efficiency. The position requires up to 50% travel within the United States or other locations as needed.
A bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or Engineering is required, and a purchasing certification is an asset. Candidates should have 5‑10 years of procurement experience, preferably in construction, infrastructure, or engineering, with proven supplier‑management skills and a solid grasp of RFP, contracting, and negotiation principles. Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities, along with proficiency in procurement systems and Microsoft Office, are essential.
