Section Manager Architectural - Aviation & Federal

Description

• Provide expert level technical design guidance and support.
• Mentor and cultivate relationships with staff.
• Responsible for providing feedback and conducting performance evaluations for department staff.
• Participate in the recruitment, development, training, and retention of staff.
• Responsible for interpreting policies and communicating purposes and goals of the organization to staff.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the department while promoting our positive department culture and work environment.
• Implement, apply, and support Burns & McDonnell, A&F, and department programs and initiatives; successfully navigating and managing change within the department.
• Direct and coordinate work assignments and review performance to ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff.
• Responsible for collaborating with business development managers, business line leaders, project managers, and proposal production staff on proposals to secure work for staff.
• Responsible for overall QA/QC process adherence.

Requirements

• Compliance with Burns & McDonnell policies and standards.
• Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
• Must be expert in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Previous leadership and/or management experience is preferable.
• Position requires the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
• Must possess strong project management skills and a strategic perspective.
• Bachelor or Master’s degree in architecture, interior design, or related degree from accredited program and 5 years related professional experience in design and/or project management required.
