Assist in the design and analysis of bridges and other structures, applying engineering principles and techniques.
Assist in preparing project documentation, including reports, proposals, and presentations.
Engage in both office-based tasks and on-site activities, gaining a comprehensive understanding of structural engineering processes.
Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and present design information, including organizing and interpreting data.
Learn and apply relevant industry standards and best practices in structural design and inspection.

Exposure to structural materials (steel, concrete, timber, and masonry) and deterioration mechanisms.
Understanding of AASHTO and DOT standards related to bridge design and inspection.
Basic knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods used in bridge inspections.
Familiarity with bridge inspection procedures (e.g., NBIS - National Bridge Inspection Standards).
Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit for drafting and detailing.
Understanding of load rating calculations for bridges.
Professional Licensure and Society Memberships
Experience in the architecture/engineering/construction management industry.
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering at an ABET-accredited University or NCEES equivalent.
Exposure to structural analysis software such as SAP2000, MIDAS, or CSI Bridge.
