  • Ensure all the GL accounts are properly reconciled and maintained
  • Performs full cycle accounting which includes accounts receivable, accounts payable and financial reporting
  • Assist in preparation of cash flow statements monthly
  • Complete the monthly closing activities and assist in completing the year end activities

  • Accounting designation (CPA)considered preferred or the active pursuit of it is mandatory
  • Advanced understanding of full-cycle accounting and project forecasting and budgeting
  • Exhibits strong management skills, with the ability to delegate and coordinate activities
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with various accounting software
  • Analytical accounting responsibilities as well
  • 5-7 years of accounting experience in construction, engineering, or a project- based company preferred
  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in accounting or a finance related discipline
  • Knowledge of project costing principles, recoveries, insurance, and contract/subcontract requirements as related to accounting
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment an asset
  • Intermediate understanding of owner contracts as they relate to payment terms, billing requirements, audit rights, and cost-of-work definition, insurance, and bonding
