What you would be doing

- Continual optimisation of model documentation to align with local regulations & requirements.
- Support the sales & business development activities of the business with a deep understanding of the technology and its application to the Australian & New Zealand markets.
- Support customers through the planning, construction & commissioning phases of their projects.
- Collaborate with global team with ongoing development of technology & models to best support SMA customers in Australia, New Zealand, and globally.
- Support and mentor power systems professionals both in customer and consultancy organisations in application of SMA technology to utility-scale power stations.

- Tertiary Degree in Electrical Engineering OR Equivalent Tertiary Degree – specialising in Power Systems or Control Systems.
- Strong problem-solving & analytical skills
- Working knowledge of the connection process for Generators under the NER
- Working knowledge of PowerFactory
- Experience with AEMO (Australian Energy Market Operator) model assessment and validation
- Working knowledge of dynamic modelling using PSS®E & PSCAD
- Experience with electricity grid planning and operation
- 3+ years’ experience in Grid Modelling
- Working knowledge of MATLAB Simulink
- Strong Control System skills
- Strong Computer Science skills
- Renewable energy industry experience in utility-scale BESS, PV or Wind
- Experience with Australian NER (National Electricity Rules) and GPS (Generator Performance Standards)
