Project Manager

Description

• Champion a culture of safety and quality excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
• Communicate clearly, consistently, and effectively with clients, key stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and internal project teams, providing regular, transparent updates and comprehensive reports.
• Oversee and direct all project phases, from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring & control, and final closeout, ensuring strict alignment with client objectives, contractual requirements, and industry best practices.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative, highperforming, and accountable environment.
• Develop, manage, and meticulously maintain comprehensive project plans, detailed schedules (utilizing tools like MS Project or Primavera P6), and robust budgets for electric utility projects.
• Ensure unwavering compliance with all applicable safety regulations, quality standards, environmental requirements, and permitting processes.
• Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and the adoption of best practices in project management processes and methodologies.
• Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate project risks by developing and implementing effective risk management strategies and contingency plans.

Requirements

• Indepth knowledge of electric utility industry regulations, standards (e.g., NERC, FERC), and local permitting processes.
• Strong understanding and practical application of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI framework/PMP, Agile principles where applicable).
• A minimum of 5+ years of dedicated experience in project management, with a clear and demonstrable focus on leading and managing electric utility capital projects (e.g., transmission, distribution, substation).
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
• Must be able to work Hybrid in the Washington DC area.
• Experience with contract management and administration.
• Excellent communication (written, verbal, presentation), interpersonal, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Proven ability to manage complex, multifaceted projects and consistently deliver successful results in a dynamic environment.
• Experience with Agile or hybrid project management methodologies in a utility context.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6) and standard office tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical), Construction Management, or a closely related technical field.
