The role involves on‑site assessments of underground and aerial cable plant damages, interviewing contractors, technicians, witnesses, police, and homeowners, photographing and documenting scenes, and collaborating with locate companies to exchange damage information.
The specialist must understand State Dig Laws, excavator requirements, and NESC standards, build professional relationships with clients and contractors, compile case material, assist the Claims Recovery team, and develop monthly market reports and client meeting updates.
- Perform on‑site assessments of underground and aerial cable damages.
- Conduct interviews with contractors, technicians, witnesses, police, and homeowners at damage sites.
- Photograph and document damage scenes to accurately determine liability.
- Collaborate with client locate companies and exchange damage information.
- Analyze evidence to identify liable parties and apply State Dig Laws, excavator requirements, and NESC standards.
- Build professional relationships with clients, contractors, and management.
- Obtain and document job repair cost estimates from contractors.
- Compile case materials and forward them to the local handling office.
- Assist Claims Recovery team with post‑review follow‑up actions.
- Develop monthly market reports and lead client meetings for updates.
- Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; work on uneven terrain in varied weather.
- Drive personal vehicle to sites day or night; lift/carry up to 25 lb occasionally.
